From the 1st October 2007 it will be a criminal offence to sell, import or manufacture 'realistic' replica weapons. This includes 99.9% of all airsoft guns. There is no restriction on the sale of parts etc.
To be legally sold an airsoft gun the seller will have to check that you are a 'real' airsoft player. This check means you will have to be a member of a recognised airsoft site. The site where you are a member will then pass your information to UKARA to be put on their data base which the retailers will check for each sale.
New players will have to attend a site three times in a two month period to be granted membership, and you must also be 18+years old, this is stated in the legislation.
Your UKARA registration will be deleted by them if you have not made a purchase for 12 months.
Private sales of air soft guns will still be legal provided the seller checks in the same way.
These changes do not effect ownership of what you already have, and has no effect on renting airsoftguns at sites.
Membership will cost £10
You must also provide 2 passport photo's, valid photo ID, and proof of address, such as utility or bank correspondence for your application to be processed.

NOTE: WE CAN ONLY ISSUE MEMBERSHIP FORMS TO KNOWN PLAYERS OR NEW PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED 3 TIMES OVER 2 OR MORE MONTHS.
